The Temora Trotting Club

A rich and proud history.

The history of harness racing in Temora goes back over 100 years. While it was incorporated in 1976, it’s believed an executive committee was formed in 1904.

Temora is fondly associated with one of its most famous sons – champion pacer, Paleface Adios.

Known as the ‘Temora Tornado’, Paleface Adios was a dearly loved champion to many Australians. Among his great victories, two Lord Mayor’s Cups at Harold Park, two Clive Uhr Championships in Brisbane and the Winfield Cup in Melbourne as an eight-year-old. And his greatest victory of all – the 1976 Miracle Mile.

The significance of this champion to the town of Temora is remembered in the form of a life-size monument featured in Paleface Park in the main street of the township.

Temora Mini Trots

The Future of our Sport!

Mini trots aim to develop an interest in harness racing sport at an early age. A small version of Harness Racing, kids aged between 5 and 16 get to race ponies in mini sulkies.

Mini trot races are held at all five Temora Trotting Club race meetings each year. Members of other local Mini Trot Clubs including Leeton, Albury and Canberra also compete in our events at Temora.

The Riverina Club races at different agricultural shows and harness races around the South West & Riverina region, regularly at Temora and Junee and occasionally Wagga Wagga and Young.

For more information and how to join, contact Lynette Hargrave at Riverina Mini Trotting
